Trailer Bulletin: Yours, Mine & Ours
by Scott Weinberg | July 28, 2005
Discuss Article
Click right here for your first loud and somewhat obnoxious peek at the upcoming family comedy "Yours, Mine & Ours," starring Dennis Quaid, Rene Russo, and ten shrieking children.

Based on the 1968 comedy of the same name (which itself was based on an autobiographical book by Helen Beardsley), this remake is about nothing more than 2 middle-aged newlyweds, their ten kids, and a whole lot of chaos. Call it "The Brady Bunch +4" or call it "Cheaper by the Near-Dozen" -- but don't call me when you need a babysitter.

Written by two teams of relatively inexperienced screenwriters and directed by the guy who gave us "Big Momma's House" and both "Scooby-Doo" movies, "YM&O" opens on November 23rd.

Enough with the Remakes, Already!
Shame on Quaid and Russo for continuing to contribute to the seemingly endless rash of bad remakes we've been subjected to lately. The film industry is just over 100 years old - have they completely run out of new and original ideas? No wonder box office receipts are down - we've all seen every movie out there already, and most of them weren't very good the first time. I used to love movies... now I just don't care anymore.

agreed
not only are remakes generally worse and dumbed down, but now we have remakes of movies that no one has heard of! I'm all for family entertianment, but crap, would it have been so hard to write a comedy about a big family from scratch???

It would have been even funnier if Mark Wahlberg said it...
