Hopper, Huppert, Keitel & Mirren to Visit "America"
A fistful of respected acting veterans are set to appear in Jerzy Skolimowski's "America," based on Susan Sontag's 2001 novel "In America," says The Hollywood Reporter. Set in the latter part of the 19th century, the story is about "Polish actress Maryna Zatezowska, who immigrates to the U.S. and travels to California to found a utopian commune."
Screenwriter Frederic Raphael ("Eyes Wide Shut") adapted Ms. Sontag's novel, and the cast is starting to look fairly impressive: Dennis Hopper ("River's Edge"), Helen Mirren ("The Clearing"), and Isabelle Huppert ("8 Women") are already on board, and longtime indie pro Harvey Keitel ("Bad Lieutenant") is in talks to land a role as well.

Looking foward to it, though I probaly won't see it in the theatre's, but it won't be a bad DVD pick-up. (Reply to this) |
