on Aug 27 2008 03:13 AM This was a great article to read, but most of you will probably be interested in the details regarding the third film so here it is. ------ A DVD release of the film is said to be planned for the holidays (the studio won't confirm a date). And Warners and Legendary are both interested in doing a third in the series, but all involved say it will be up to Nolan to come to them with a story and a plan. "There are a lot of us who emotionally would love to do it," Roven says. "But it's really Chris' call. Chris is the kind of filmmaker who just doesn't think about the next movie before he has completely finished the movie he is working on." For now, Nolan is taking a well-earned vacation. Says Roven, "When he comes back, we will see how he feels." ------ So there it is. Hopefully, this puts that Telegraph article about Cher as Catwoman to rest. (Reply to this) |
on Aug 27 2008 05:59 AM In reply to this comment (#2004008) It was amazing how many people bought into that Cher as Catwoman tripe. The Telegraph is just a few notches above the National Enquirer. By the way, the Riddler is obviously not a done-deal yet either [apparently nothing is] so people can stop playing casting director. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 27 2008 06:35 AM This article just continues to confirm how awesome Nolan is, and I'm very glad to see WB behaving rationally and WAITING for Nolan to come to them with a story idea, rather than forcing the issue of having another Batman film done immediately. They've realized what a lot of other studios need to: When you have a director who does right by your franchise, treat both with RESPECT(unlike Marvel Studios' initial di.cking around of Favreau on his salary) and you'll get a better, more successful product out of the endeavor. on Aug 27 2008 07:37 AM Now that was a GREAT article! Congratulations to everyone involved and props to WB for realizing the genius in Chris Nolan and deciding to wait until Nolan decides what he will do next with Batman. Sh*t like that is pretty much unheard of in Hollywood. AS for that rumor about Cher and blah blah blah...I knew that was some nonsense...Im pretty sure RT posted that news article to create some sort of an uproar on this site...hahahahaha...I guess they needed some excitement for the day (Reply to this) |

on Aug 27 2008 07:47 AM Did anyone see the statement Robert Downey Jr. made about The Dark Knight? He also had some expletive comments toward DC comics. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 27 2008 07:59 AM Uh, guys, articles like that aren't written a day before they are released. They had probably been working on it for quite some time. Who knows WHEN they got those quotes from Nolan, or when they wrote what they did. It's good to view the Cher rumor with a healthy bit of skepticism, but you certainly can't use an article like this as proof. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 27 2008 08:02 AM In reply to this comment (#2004179) Yah, that was funny. "well you know what? F**k DC comics!" hahaha hilarious. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, right? (Reply to this) |
on Aug 27 2008 08:35 AM In reply to this comment (#2004201) LOL, I thought that was funny. I would pcik MARVEL over DC in comics, but BATMAN is still the best comic book character. Marvel has IRON MAN, CAPTAIN AMERICA, FANTASTIC 4, DR.STRANGE, SPIDERMAN, and DAREDEVIL while DC just has BATMAN, GREEN LANTERN, and SUPERMAN. DC doesn't have as many great heroes as MARVEL, but DC does have the best comic book character, BATMAN. Also although I really liked IRON MAN, THE DARK KNIGHT blew it out of the water...back to topic...Yes, Nolan needs to comeback, no one else could match what he has done. I still wanna see The Riddler! (Reply to this) |

on Aug 27 2008 08:52 AM In reply to this comment (#2004284) Doctor Strange and Daredevil????????? (Reply to this) |
on Aug 27 2008 09:31 AM I've always loved Marvel more. About the article, none of it really seemed like news. (Reply to this) |
|
on Aug 27 2008 09:37 AM I thought it was funny that Downey stated, the movie was to smart and that he didn't understand why Gotham needed to turn on Batman. And yes, I thought the expletive DC comics was funny, at least his opinions are to the point! (Reply to this) |

on Aug 27 2008 10:19 AM My favorite comics are Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" and Moore's "Watchmen." They are both Vertigo which is part of DC. So I disagree with Downey. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 27 2008 10:41 AM In reply to this comment (#2004619) Zigy, Watchmen was Vertigo? (Reply to this) |
|
on Aug 27 2008 11:06 AM oh wait, nvm. I got confused cuz Alan's V for Vendetta and The Sawmp Thing (I think) is vertigo. But ya Watchmen is just DC (Reply to this) |
on Aug 27 2008 11:08 AM Well done for the WB. I want to give a hug to whoever wrote that article. Now all of us can just wait for the dvd release and enjoy the film at home. Like I said, let Nolen rest and give him a few months. I will be waiting for what he wants to do next. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 27 2008 11:27 AM i hope nolan does another small film like memento, insomnia, or the prestige before he does another batman. he is an excellent director and writer and i would love to see him do something small before finishing off his batman trilogy. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 27 2008 11:35 AM For some reason I liked the original Insomnia better than the Nolan version, probably mostly due to my annoyance with Robin Williams. The article said this at one point: "although Katie Holmes declined to return and was replaced by Maggie Gyllenhaal. " . . . I was kind of fantasising that Nolan roared in after the film was made and said, "I TOLD YOU SO! SHE'S #)$#*) AWFUL! IF she dies in the second film people will just clap!" (Reply to this) |
on Aug 27 2008 11:43 AM ihatecarneys: I think Nolan is working on a movie based on 'The Prisoner' TV series. Not sure what's going on with it though. (Reply to this) |
on Aug 27 2008 11:53 AM In reply to this comment (#2004348) What the hell is wrong with Daredevil, he kicks @***, sure the movie sucked (in much need for reboot), I can understand why somebody wouldn't like Dr.Strange-I like him though. Also MARVEL has The Punisher, and Punisher MAX is great. Although DC did publish Watchmen, the greatest graphic novel ever (my fav book), they just don't have as many great superhero characters as MARVEL. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 27 2008 02:01 PM Its probably for the best that Nolan takes a break. He needs to regroup and give us another great movie. I think its gonna be really hard to live up to TDK. (Reply to this) |
