on Aug 22 2008 04:59 PM Is a reboot nescesary, sure Superman Returns was flawed but do we need a reboot. I mean X Men was flawed but good, and look what SINGER did with X Men 2. I just hope they let Mark Millar write this, and they get a good director, and I wouldn't mind if they had Bradon Routh come back. Also they need to have BRANIAC in the movie. (Reply to this) |
on Aug 22 2008 05:02 PM You know what, I do believe the Dark Knight's greatest legacy will be how it has enlightened Warner Bros to how to properly treat the DC universe. I am truely excited to see what Warner Bros. does with their new found enthuaism and wisdom in how to correctly adapt a superhero film. I do believe their is finally some hope that all our favorite heros will get a fair deal after all... can't wait to see the 'new' Superman :) (Reply to this) |
on Aug 22 2008 05:06 PM In reply to this comment (#1998198) I agree jokerboy with your passion for having Brainiac in the new Superman movie because frankly he is one of the better villians in DC comics history and is arguably one of the most underrated in all of comics history. Would absolutely LOVE to see Mark Millar write the cript because I do believe a comic book film written by one of the industry's best is a GREAT idea!! Also, Jokerboy, like my previous post stated... let Warner Bros. take their new found passion from the Dark Knight and I do believe everyone will be happy. I foresee one hell of a Superman, Green Lantern and even a Green Arrow movie coming very soon. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 22 2008 05:07 PM i hope after this reboot they reboot it again just so i can hear them call it a re-reboot (Reply to this) |
on Aug 22 2008 05:07 PM In reply to this comment (#1998201) Yeah I am kind of worried that WB will make all DC's superhero movies dark like THE DARK KNIGHT think that is that can make a buck then so could this. I dunno about a dark superman, he needs a dark villian like Braniac though. I think that THE GREEN LANTERN would be great if it had a dark tone, and thats the movie they need to make. WONDER WOMAN I still think is a stupid idea. I am mixed on THE GREEN ARROW, but a dark tone for that is needed. I definately dont wanna see a dark version of THE FLASH. I also think it would be cool if they ended up doing PLASTIC MAN with the WACHOWSKI BROTHERS. The only superhero movies that I think need a reboot are DAREDEVIL, and a reboot of THE SPIRIT. on Aug 22 2008 05:10 PM In reply to this comment (#1998206) BAD GRAMMER, I mean I am sure the WB think they should make all there superhero movies dark now because of how dark The Dark Knight was, and some of the characers they are making shouldnt be dark there not BATMAN which should be dark. (Reply to this) |
on Aug 22 2008 05:16 PM In reply to this comment (#1998208) Joker, I concur with your valid points about not making everything from a dark perspective BUT.. at this point whatever it takes to make adaptations that work is fine by me. Personally when I think of disaster comic book films I think they tend to go into the lighter perspective- i.e. Batman and Robin, Fantastic four films. Now that doesn't mean it can't work obviously, look at Iron Man obviously, but I think its harder at times to make lighter films without giving into the temptation of making it stupid or not taking it seriously enough. on Aug 22 2008 05:45 PM The hilarious thing is that this is the new Hollywood - just 'reboot' every series every few years so you can sell the same story with different actors over, and over, and over, and over. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 22 2008 06:08 PM 'Superman Returns is the finest popular entertainment since the Rings trilogy closed. Superman doesn%u2019t fly - he soars.' - Empire Magazine 'Beautifully crafted and emotionally resonant' - New York Post 'An elegant, intimate story and the result is a work of real art.' - Cinemablend.com 'Sure to rate alongside Spider-Man 2 and Batman Begins on the short list of best superhero spectaculars.' - Variety These are some of the things our best critics had to say about this movie. I absolutely loved it even though it could have used more action. BUT THAT IS WHAT SINGER PROMISED US IN THE SEQUEL. WRATH OF KHAN!!! REMEMBER??? ANYBODY REMEMBER XMEN 2!!! I bet everything that he would have delivered both in action and drama. This is a sad day for us Supes fans... (Reply to this) |
on Aug 22 2008 07:22 PM I'd prefer not to hack, re-hack and re-re hack my opinion on Superman anymore... I've gotta admit Im gettin' tired of all of the "creative" heads being so confused at to where to go with Superman From this point on, Im just gonna sit back, relax and see what happens...thanks WB (Reply to this) |

on Aug 22 2008 07:41 PM Great news, Superman Returns was godaweful and it ruined the character. PS. Couch while you are here i have a question to ask, last night i saw Dark knight again and something was lingering in my mind, everyone hated Spiderman 3 because it used Venom for all of 30 minutes yet TDK did this with TwoFace and no one cares, how come? (Reply to this) |
|
on Aug 22 2008 08:31 PM Bc venom was played by **** *** topher grace and the CGI was horrible ....he looked fake.......the burned side on harvey dent's face looked real......and he's a better actor..... (Reply to this) |
|
on Aug 22 2008 08:31 PM The reason is simple, people were too involved in and in awe of Ledger's Joker to care about how much screen-time two-face got. At least Harvey Dent got decent screen-time. But in Spiderman 3, people were looking forward to Venom from the very beginning, so it was a big let-down to see his fleeting 10 minute role!! Bottom line, Spiderman 3 sucks! (Reply to this) |
on Aug 22 2008 08:32 PM I enjoyed Superman Returns. Not quite like Superman 1 and II but enough that I was eager to see Brandon Routh as Superman again. So to me this is actually a disappointment and not needed. Plus unless we see a Superman movie with Doomsday in it I'm not going to be that impressed. And TheCaptain of TeamLoyalty: That's because Spiderman 3 ruined Venom's character. Topher Grace played him all wrong. Aaron Eckhert played both Harvey Dent and Two-Face very well. (Reply to this) |
on Aug 22 2008 08:34 PM PS-although I think that if when they reboot Superman they need to choose a better Lois Lane, Kate Bosworth didn't do it for me at all. Rachel McAdams maybe? (Reply to this) |
on Aug 22 2008 08:46 PM I hated Superman Returns with a passion. Two hours of my life that I'll never have back. (Reply to this) |
|
on Aug 22 2008 08:50 PM So... Harry Potter isn't coming out until next Summer? Wow, I am really depressed. Scrap Batman. Lex Luther is a terrible villain in these movies and they need to reintroduce him in order to make the filmed Superman universe remotely interesting. (Reply to this) |
|
on Aug 22 2008 10:00 PM Superman Returns was awful. Didn't it end with some chick throwing Luther's remote out the helicopter and then they were stranded on an island...? Talk about an awful climax. (Reply to this) |
|
on Aug 22 2008 10:37 PM I bet they will reintroduce him in a "darker" tone due to the success of the Dark Knight. But the problem with that is that superman does not fit into a dark story line. The last superman was horrible. But re-boot not necessary. (Reply to this) |
on Aug 22 2008 10:59 PM In reply to this comment (#1998422) Well one is that alot of people believe that 2 face will be in the third movie which I do believe too. Aaron Eckhart is just a better actor then Topher Grace and Eckhart was given better material and 2 Face is a way better villian. Where 2 Face looked grusome like he should have, and Venom didnt look grusome like he should have. (Reply to this) |
