Wayans Brothers Making Cop Movie Spoof
Badges, bullets, and yuks.

Discuss Article
The Wayans brothers are getting back into the spoofing business.

Variety reports that Keenen Ivory, Shawn, and Marlon Wayans have brought their next project -- an untitled "sendup of cop actioners" -- to Paramount. Keenen Ivory will direct from a script co-written by all three brothers.

Previous Wayans lampoons have included, of course, the four Scary Movie films, which have raked in over $420 million domestically.

Comedy fans who are hungry for more Wayans will soon be able to tune into their "scripted comedy" series for VH1, The Life and Times of Marcus "Felony" Brown.

i'm sick of the spoofs, stop this sh3t NOW!!!! epic movie?? date movie?? oooh sweet lord, if you laughed more than 2 times at either of those...well, nevermind, if you laughed at those you don't know how to read so, forget it. now the 300 spoof? here's an idea, STOP writing a d3mn MOVIE about what you think is funny...and go work for mad tv or snl, that way you can take your TINY idea that lasts 5 minutes...and stop TRYING to stretch that into a 90 minute movie. doesn't work. need more proof? watch any will ferrell movie in which he stars, funny character...for 5 minutes.

Hot Fuzz = classic, hilarious but loving homage to action movies. My favorite movie of 2007.

Cop Movie = another three weeks of having to suffer through epically unfunny commercials.

The Wayans didn't work on any of the "Movies" after Scary Movie 2, which were the only ones with "laugh out loud" scenes in them."

I can see this one being funny though. Scary Movie 1 was one of the only good spoof comedies in the past 10 years, and while Scary Movie 2 got really old after awhile, the first few scenes are absolutely hilarious. I'm looking forward to it. Even if it is horrible, it's not going to hurt anybody.

Yes, but they did work on White Chicks and Little Man after the Scary Movies, and between those 4 "comedies" they have given the world plenty to cringe at.

and yet the Wayans' "Cop Movie" will open huge, because African American audiences will flock to the theaters and laugh their asses off at the dumbest, unfunniest dreck ever as long as it's starring other African Americans, just like they have for all the other Wayans movies. ughhhhh.

people need to stop being so negative. Don't be a Menace was a very funny movie- check out Siskel and Ebert's reviews of it. Scary Movie also was good. Yah they've had bombs since then but I will give them another chance.

If the movie sucks it's payment enough, now back to your momma's basement!

This is great news because that means we can have 6 sequels to "Cop Movie" which will also be in the running for most creative string of movie titles!

The first two scary movies were the funniest before the other writers took over. Date Movie is pretty much unwatchable and Epic movie is runnin up right behind it. I like the Wayons Brothers and still watch reruns of thier sitcom. But I snuck into LittleMAN and did not laugh ONCE and couldnt believe how many times people got kicked in the dick. I think they're losing it.

yuck...I feel ill.

they should parody Hot Fuzz...which...is probably exactly how this project came to be. The WB's were frantically searching for a funny idea to try and rip off and decided they could do a Hot Fuzz for black people, most of whom probably didn't see Hot Fuzz, so they might just get away with it!...I betcha...

Hot Cuzz!

yah they might be losing it. The White Chicks and Little Man had all their funny moments in the ads. But again they have done movies in the past which critics liked and so did audiences. lets see if they can get it back. I bet there are people here who are ripping them but laughed their *** off watching Don't be a Menace and Scary Movie.
