Edina Monsoon owns a publicity firm... Outrageously funny and irreverent British television comedy about two wildly unbridled clothes mavens who refuse to give up their bad habits from the 1960s. Edina Monsoon owns a publicity firm and Patsy Stone is a consultant for a fashion magazine that she rarely visits. While the divorced Edina must contend with her nagging ultra-conservative daughter and daffy mother, Patsy is free to pursue men for one-night stands. Mostly, though, the chain-smoking pair spend their time shopping at expensive stores, appearing at trendy restaurants and nightclubs, and hanging out at Edina's house -- all the while consuming vast amounts of alcohol and drugs, and wisecracking about everyone around them. "Fashion" - Edina organizes a fashion show with supermodels and celebrities from New York. A little cocaine gets her imagination revved-up for the last minute preparations. Patsy lends her inimitable moral support to Edina: she hangs around backstage and gets Edina drunk at the post-show celebration, even though Saffy made Edina promise she would be good. "Fat" - Edina goes on a diet, or her version of a weight-loss program. "France" - Getting lost en route to a French vacation chateau doesn't bode well for the non-French speaking Patsy and Edina. It turns out to be a vacation from hell as their cottage is not equipped for living -- which doesn't stop them from becoming experts in the region's wines, however. Saffy comes to their rescue with food and a knowledge of French. She also finds out that they've been staying in the wrong place: they're in the cottage next to the chateau. [More]
