Convinced that the hotel's beautiful guest is an incognito critic for the exclusive 'Worthington Travel Guide,' he sets out to garner a good review. But the guest-- actually a Mohawk Indian -- has her own agenda: she's come to the reserve hoping to find the man with whom she's been exchanging romantic emails. When she mistakenly confuses the over-solicitous Ray for her amorous pen pal, the comedy of errors kicks into high gear. Especially when the real critic arrives and encounters the hotel's vegetarian chef who whips up fabulous meals for his guests, then kills their appetites by telling them the pet names and life stories of the animals they are eating. Add to the mix chambermaids who insist on bringing their children to work, a resident handyman who constantly hits on the ski bunnies and Ray's father, the retired chief, who just wants to win the new Jeep Cherokee at the big holiday bingo contest. • A surprise visit to the Sky Mountain Resort by a major travel guide sparks mayhem, romance and comedy in this critically praise holiday feature. Resort Manager 'Ray Clouds on Fire' (Tim Vahle) must deal with his vegetarian chef (Graham Greene), his lovestruck assistant (Sheila Tousey) and his jeep-obsessed father (Sam Vlahos), while struggling with his own romantic feelings for the woman he mistakes as the Worthington Travel Guide guest (Mariana Tosca). In the midst of all the mayhem, the real reviewer and secret guest (M. Emmet Walsh) befalls a myriad of problems that leave him questioning not only the resort, but his own sanity! Shot on the stunning grounds of the acclaimed Sundance Institute, Christmas In The Clouds is a thorough enjoyable comedy and an instant holiday classic that viewers will enjoy over and over again.

The plot is just too pedestrian, the writing just too limp, and most of the characters just too boring for this to be anything more than a modestly entertaining diversion.

The path of true love may not be smooth but it is predictable in Christmas in the Clouds, a wisp of a movie set in a Utah ski resort run by a Native American tribe.

Kate Montgomery's agreeably schmaltzy rom-com tempers its near terminal folksiness with stereotype-tweaking irony.

While you may have seen the story before, the offbeat characters and the movie location make you feel like you're treading new ground.

While Vahle and Tosca are the most attractive people onscreen, they are the least interesting characters.

There are few highs and lows. And after a while all this middle-of-the road blandness wears out its welcome.

While its understandable some might appreciate Christmas in the Clouds merely for what it attempts to be, its inexplicable to extol the film on that basis alone.

Amiable and frivolous, Christmas in the Clouds works mostly because of an appealing cast and an attractive setting.

Christmas in the Clouds won't knock your socks off, but it's so old-fashioned and low-key that it sticks out from the holiday movie pack.

This all-too-predictable comedy-drama of misunderstandings, which was featured in the 2001 Sundance Film Festival and has been in limbo up until now, is not much different from a typical television movie made for the Lifetime cable channel.
